I’m an artist, designer, workshop facilitator, and illustrator with a background in textiles and ceramics, now working across a range of mediums.
After more than twenty years in the voluntary sector, including leading an arts charity and a SEND youth voice project, I’ve stepped away from that work to focus on Claire's art practice.
My work is shaped by lived experience and a curiosity about the world around me. I explore nature, sea life, human forms, and abstraction with freedom and openness, allowing each piece to grow through experimentation and play.
I’m interested in how materials can hold feeling, movement, and memory. My artistic expression is expressive and confident, influenced by lived experiences and recent life changes. This work not only gives me direction but also continually opens up new possibilities.

I engage in artistic expression across mixed media, print, and textiles, using materials in a hands-on experimental way. Claire's art practice is versatile, moving across mediums, styles, and forms to explore ideas freely.
The work stems from observing everyday life—people, nature, places, politics, and the systems we navigate. My creations can be playful, reflective, or offer a quiet social commentary.
I work experimentally with materials, layering paint and multiple mediums to build depth, texture, and intensity. I utilize colour and shape to explore connection and contrast in a clear, direct manner.
My 3D training in textiles and ceramics continues to influence how I approach making. I create natural dyes and inks, print and dye fabrics, and experiment with cyanotype processes.
In my studio, I develop my own printmaking methods, including gelatine gel plates, carving into rubbers and other soft materials, salt-dough printing, and transforming discarded food packaging into collagraphs and monoprints.
